RUKUNGIRI- Couples have been urged to respect their spouses and build a strong bond with God if they’re to have long lasting families rooted in truth and faithfulness. In today’s heartfelt message during Mary’s Day celebrations, Rukungiri Municipality Member of Parliament Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, who was the day’s guest of honor emphasized the importance of mutual respect and love in marital relationships.
Rutahigwa who was represented by his wife Kemigisha Sylvia Rutahigwa highlighted that respect is a cornerstone of a healthy marriage and urged women to appreciate their partners and vice versa.

The day highlights the significance of Mary’s part in the life of Jesus, and emphasizes that she is both human and divine. It also honors the contributions of women in society, as well as a platform to encourage women to acknowledge the role of their husbands in family life. The mothers were fundraising for the roofing of the church currently under construction.
The day’s guest Preacher, Bathsheba Muzimbwe from All Saints Church Rukungiri challenged the congregation to listen and answer God’s call, stressing that he has severally called us though some haven’t responded to his call.
Bathsheba testified that the almighty at times gets us into hardships so that we can improve our trust that in him, all is possible.
She used the same occasion to urge the congregation to ensure forgiveness, stressing that from this gesture, the almighty forgives us and we’re healed of our burdens.

Rukungiri Woman Member of Parliament Hon Midius Natukunda Kaharata hailed Kankoma Church of Uganda for living exemplary and constructing a Church that glorifies the almighty.
The MP asked women to always pray for their families stressing that a woman’s prayer is always answered before the almighty.

Rev Andrew Mwijuka, the Kakonkoma Parish Priest, Allen Biziringyi the head of laity and John Biziringyi, the head of development noted that the church roofing project requires 36 million shillings. Of this, Ugx 10 million was raised.
