NEWS- The Police in Rukungiri District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 18 year old Mucunguzi Denis, a resident of Nyarwanya village in Burora Parish in Nyarushanje Sub-county.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate noted that the lifeless body of Mucunguzi was discovered in Kihogo Trading Center located in Nyarwanya village, Burora Parish in Nyarushanje Sub-county, Rukungiri District.
It’s alleged that the deceased Mucunguzi was the previous night spotted at Vegas Club that belongs to Naboth in Kihogo Trading center with others and one Victor son of Philemon.
Another friend only identified as Medard started complaining that the deceased had stolen the phone belonging to his cousin sister Ainembabazi Gloria whom they were within the same bar.
In a due course, a scuffle ensued between Victor and Mucunguzi, forcing the bar owner to push the duo outside. The deceased tried to run away, however Victor followed him in the corridor of the same bar and returned in hurry informing his cousin sister Ainembabazi that they should leave the bar with immediate effect.
Ainembbabazi hesitated to move since she had not received her phone and Victor hurriedly rode off his motorcycle together with another sister called Catherine.
It was at this time that other bar patrons and attendants tried to check around and they found Mucunguzi lying in a pool of blood dead in a corridor. A brother to the deceased, Tumwesigye Sam was informed; he reported the matter to the chairman Kihogo Trading Center Tumukunde Ambrose who reported to the Police.
Maate explained that a case of murder was registered at Rubabo Police Station, a team of homicide Detectives and Scene of Crime Officer responded and statements were recorded and Ainembabazi was arrested by residents, she’s currently in Police custody to assist in investigations.
