NEWS– The Police in Sheema District are investigating circumstances under which an unknown person was killed an unknown assailants.

SSP Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident that happened on 18th December 2023 in Rusharara cell, Kakunyu ward, Kabwohe division in Sheema Municipality.

It’s alleged that on 18th December 2023, at around 10:20am, Police received information from a whistle blower that there was a body of a male adult lying along Kabwohe-Bushenyi Road at Rusharara cell, Kakunyu ward, Kabwohe division in Sheema Municipality. 

Tumusiime noted that Police led by ASP Kasule Consilanta, the Sheema District Police Commander, visited the crime scene recorded statements from relevant witnesses to assist in investigations.

According to Police, the body of the deceased’s hands and legs were folded with multiple injuries on the arms, head and the legs.

Police say efforts to establish the identity of the deceased and perpetrators are underway as the body of the deceased has been conveyed to Kabwohe health centre IV mortuary for postmortem examination.

Relatedly, the Police in Sheema district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 39 year Old Business man whose mortocycle reg number UFC 392 was also robbed.

The deceased is Tashobya Peter 39, a resident of Kakorogoto East cell, Kashozi central ward, Kashozi Division, Sheema Municipality who was found dead in Kyabandara ward on Saturday 16th December 2023 evening.

The matter was reported to to Sheema Police Station under CRB 926/2023 by Arinaitwe Amon 23, a boda boda rider and resident of Kakorogoto East Cell in Sheema district. Though its suspected murder and aggravated robbery, the suspects are still unknown.

According to Tumusiime, information was received by Police from the owner of telephone number 0753229680 that there was a body of a male adult dumped in a forest of eucalyptus trees of one Byaruhanga Jonas in Kikongoro cell.

Tumusiime confirmed the incident revealing that a team of homicide squad, uniformed personnel, canine and SOCO headed by D/CID/O visited, documented the scene and recorded statements from relevant witnesses to help in investigations. The body was conveyed to Kabwohe Health Center IV for postmortem.

Police found the body half naked with a navy blue short, blue jean trouser, white vest and stripped tshirt lying in spine positionwith bloody face, blood coming from the mouth and nose. The body also had some injuries on elbows and arms.

The spokesperson stresses that the body had a ligature mark around the neck adding that police inquiries into the matter are still at hand.
