NEWS- An accident along the Ishaka-Kasese Highway in Rubirizi district on Saturday, august 10th 2024 claimed lives of four people on the spot.
The incident according to the Greater Bushenyi Police spokeperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime occurred on Saturday at about 5:00AM at Nkombe Village along the Kasese-Ishaka highway.
The Regional Police spokesman stressed that the single fatal accident involved a Toyota Probox with registration number UBQ 896N that overturned and veered off the road.
SSP Tumusiime confirmed that the identities of the deceased and the victims were yet to be established by press time.
The accident reportedly happened when the vehicle, traveling from Ishaka toward Kasese, lost control while descending in Nkombe. The driver, who was allegedly speeding, swerved off the road and overturned into a trench.
The victims were initially rushed to Comboni Hospital for medical treatment. The bodies were taken to Rugazi Health Centre IV mortuary for postmortem examination.
