NEWS- The police in Sheema district are hunting for assailant(s) who cut a 52 year old man to death in Nyamambo 2 cell, Kasana Sub – county.
The deceased is Namara Wilson, a resident of the same area whose body was found cut on the neck, stomach, intestines out and his flat plastic shoes lying near his body.
It is alleged that the victim Namara Wilson left his home on 18th and went to Mishenyi trading center for leisure time and did not go back home until 19th February at around 2pm when his body was found lying in the farm in the same village by children who were picking firewood.
Police were informed, visited the scene with a team of detectives, alongside k9, SOCO and recorded statements to assist in investigations. The body of the deceased was taken to Kitagata hospital for postmortem.
By press time, efforts to have suspects identified for arrest were at hand as confirmed by the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson SSP Martial Tumusiime.
Relatedly, the Police in Kanungu district are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 22-year-old individual Turyatunga Hakim, a resident of Mukayaga Ndeeba cell, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihiihi town council, Kanungu district.
Reportedly, on the night of February 17, 2024, around midnight, the deceased was heading home from Kihiihi town accompanied by someone named Byamukama Shaban. During their journey, they stopped at a bar in Mukayaga trading center where they encountered Nicholas, who was with the bar owner.
Byamukama Shaban claims to have left the deceased at the bar and returned home. The following morning, the deceased was discovered lying on the road leading to his home by his brother, Mubarak. The brother then transported him to Kigezi Community Medical Center in critical condition, where he passed away on February 19, 2025, around 8am.
Upon being notified by Benon Twongyirwe, Police visited the scene, gathered evidence, and took statements from witnesses to aid in their investigation. A postmortem examination was conducted to determine the cause of death.
The deceased suffered a significant head injury, and efforts are underway to apprehend those involved in order to ensure justice is served. The investigation is ongoing.
