The Police in Kasese District are investigating circumstances under which a 62 year old man identified as Kangalighali Stephen Masereka a Security guard of Jimark security Company and resident of Kyondo Cell Nyamwamba division in Kasese Municipality died.
The Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident after the Area chairperson of Kyondo cell, was informed that the deceased’s room had been seen locked and there was a smell of rat poison coming out of the said room.

This prompted the chairperson to call the Officer in Charge of Rukoki Police Station, who responded and upon breaking the room, they found the deceased lying lifeless on the floor.
Maate explained that the Police Detectives visited the scene of crime and documented and the body was retrieved from the scene and conveyed to Kasese Municipal Health Centre Mortuary for postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of the death as investigations continue.
