NEWS- Nyakinoni Senior Secondary school has continued to exert her academic prowess in academic excellence after 78 students who sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in 2023 qualified to join University while 14 others qualify to join other Institutions of Higher Education.
According to Nyakinoni Senior Secondary Headteacher Dan Byabashaija last year UACE examinations good results have proved that the School which is also known as the Chinese Campus remains the only school that provides holistic learning environment to students where excellence is guaranteed.
While speaking to journalists after the release of the 2024, Byabashaija said that academic performance at Nyakinoni SSS has steadily improved over the last five years which has given confidence to the continuing students to remain focused aiming at excellence.
Some of the best 2023 UACE students at Nyakinoni SSS include Asasira Dezilee who scored 18 points and is one of the best in Kanungu District, Rukundo Bright, Mugabo Umaru and Aine Rodgers who got 17 points, Kyampaire Trinity, Asiimwe Justus, Nomwesigwa Melody and Arinaitwe Stella who got 16 points and Ndyasiga Duncan and Ayesiga Peter who scored 15 points.
It should be remembered that in 2022, Nyakinoni Senior Secondary school produced the best Uganda Certificate of Education student, who got 8 aggregates who is now a S.6 student at Kings College Budo in Kampala.
Byabashaija hailed all the stakeholders that include, the Founding Body, the Board of Governors, the teaching and Non-teaching staff, students, parents and all the well-wishers who continue to make it possible to ensure that the academic performance at Nyakinoni SSS improve.
He particularly thanked the Chinese Embassy in Uganda through the China – Uganda Friendship for its support in infrastructural development at the school which has enabled the increased enrollment and all the material support that include the recently donated text books and equipment which has made the learning environment easy and also thanked former Prime Minister Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi for initiating the Uganda China Friendship and collaboration.
Nyakinoni Senior Secondary School is a mixed O and A Level Boarding and Day school founded by the Church of Uganda under the Diocese of Kinkizi and is located in Nyakinoni Sub County in Kinkizi West Constituency in Kanungu District.
