NEWS– The Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a 30 year old woman only known as Constance for alleged murder of an 81 year old woman.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident which took yesterday morning and said that it happened in Nyakabare cell in Central Ward in Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District and Maate identified the deceased as Kashillingi Kedress also known as Muserebende.
Muserebende hired Constance early this month as a maid after she found her loitering in Kebisoni Town looking for jobs and the deceased has been staying with Natukunda Catherine, a grand daughter and her son Tumusiime Brighton and the suspect Constance who is now on the run.
It is reported that Natukunda left for Kebisoni Town and Tumusiime also left to the spring to fetch water leaving the suspect and the deceased at home and the two had an argument over a mopping rug.
When Tumusiime returned back home, he found Muserebende lying down in her bedroom with her head covered with a cloth and the maid was nowhere to be seen and he called Kamuhangire Gilbert, Agaba Peter and others who went and found her dead with fresh injuries on the head.
That’s when they informed the area Chairman Katamba Richard who reported the matter to Kebisoni Police who visited the scene of crime, processed and documented, statements recorded from witnesses and an exhibit of a hoe with suspected blood stains was recovered and postmortem examination was done.
