The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today concluded his campaign trail in Bunyoro Sub region with his last rally in Kakumiro District where he applauded the people of Kakumiro District and the entire Bunyoro Sub region for harnessing development interventions in their area for wealth creation.
President Museveni noted that the flourishing infrastructural developments across Bunyoro Sub-region in roads, electricity, water distribution, telecommunication services, oil exploitation programs among others are a clear demonstration of gains made by the NRM Government.
While addressing a rally at Kakeeka Play Grounds in Kakumiro District, President Museveni said the people of Kakumiro District and the entire Bunyoro Sub region upon which they should opt to extend his tenure for another term of office.
He commended the people of Kakumiro District for harnessing wealth creation initiatives initiated by the NRM government and confirmed plans to increase tarmac road coverage in Kakumiro District to include Kisita – Nkooko- Masonde – Ntwetwe – Kiboga road and Kazo -Burunga – Mpara – Kyegegwa – Kiboga road
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate noted that the NRM government is deliberate on its road infrastructural development plans to further improve mobility of goods and services for both social and economic development.
President Museveni confirmed government plans to elevate one of the Health Center IV in Kakumiro District to a General District Hospital to further enhance health service delivery in Kakumiro District and this pronouncement made is premised on the vast distribution of lower health facilities to almost all sub counties in Kakumiro District.
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Museveni unpacked the broad NRM socioeconomic development strategy for Kakumiro District in health and education.
President Museveni said that Uganda’s Anti Homosexuality stance has been a blessing disguise to spark National economic self reliance and noted that Uganda’s current development trend in Industrialization and other wealth creation initiatives is partly due to the ban on foreign Aid attached to the Anti Homosexuality Law.
He has challenged the people of Kakumiro District, Bunyoro, Uganda and Africa at large to further prioritize wealth creation for self reliance and assured the people of Kakumiro District of government’s continuous support for wealth creation initiatives and rallied them to embrace the viable commercial enterprises as guided in the Manifesto
President Museveni further guided the people of Kakumiro District on sustainable land utilisation and promised to enhance economic enablers for industrialization and job creation in the District.
He highlighted significant strides made by the NRM government to create job opportunities in commercial agriculture, Manufacturinh and the services sector and said that the government is committed to increase funding for skills training as a job creation strategy demonstrated by graduates of the Zonal Presidential Industrial skilling Hubs.
While speaking at the same event, the Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabanja highlighted development strides made by the NRM government in Kakumiro District and presented the president of the National Peasants Party who has defected to the ruling National Resistance Movement Party.
The Kakumiro District NRM Chairperson who doubles as Minister of state for Transport, Hon Fred Byamukama read the district status report highlighting the achievements in the District.
