The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that Uganda is experiencing unprecedented long period of peace since independence under the leadership of the NRM government with unmatched development strides and socioeconomic transformation gains that the electorate have to protect by re-electing the NRM Government in the forthcoming general elections.
President Museveni made the remarks today afternoon at Butemba College Playgrounds in Kyankwazi district where he noted that the NRM nonsectarian politics has rallied unity and build national cohesion and institutions to spur development.
President Museveni highlighted the significant contribution of the NRM affirmative action for special interest groups for especially women empowerment that has seen their elevation into key positions of leadership to contribute to National development and announced plans to establish irrigation schemes in Kyankwazi district to mechanize agriculture and improve farm yields.
Candidate Museveni explained his massage by giving examples on the ongoing government irrigation initiatives in other districts including Bushenyi where government has practically demonstrated viability of irrigation in agriculture and farmers are reaping big from their gardens and hopes to replicate the same irrigation schemes for Kyankwazi district.
He also highlighted the 86% safe and clean water distribution in the district has been made possible by the NRM government and there are plans to scale it up to 100% and the government is committed to increase tarmac roads coverage in the district.
He mentioned several tarmac road projects lined up for implementation and confirmed resumption of construction works for Kiboga and Mubende highways to supplement the already existing ones.
President Museveni revealed that Kyankwazi District has been earmarked to get new planned Health Centers to boost access to health services in the district.
President Museveni said that the NRM government is exceptionally the only government globally directly funding wealth creation initiatives at Household level and has urged the people of Kyankwazi district to be actively involved in the wealth creation drive
He cited several success stories of wealth creators in different districts across the country, and said that his aim is to see every individual and homestead attain wealth and quit living under subsistancehood
He affirmed the NRM government strategy to further support and guide the populace on wealth creation as so far done by several successful wealth creators in different parts of the country.
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate noted that the NRM manifesto is clear and elaborate on wealth creation as intended in vast wealth creation schemes from Entandikwa, Operation Wealth creation, NAADS, Emyooga, Parish Development Model Initiative, Youth Livelihood Program, Women Empowerment Fund among others.
While speaking at the same event, the NRM second National Vice Chairperson female Rt Hon Anita Among called for compensation of absentee landlords in Kyankwazi district to end land conflicts and resolving the land contest between National Forest Authority and communities.
