The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has disclosed that the government has listed 4 new tarmac road projects earmarked in Kiboga District in his next term office to supplement on the already existing tarmac coverage in the district. 

While addressing a massive rally at Saaza Grounds in Kiboga District yesterday December 16th 2025, President Museveni said that the key roads include, Myanzi- Kasanda – Bukuya – Kiboga road, Butalangwa – Kapeeka – Kakinga – Nakwaya road, Bukomero – Ddwaniro – Kyankwazi road, Bukwiri – Kyankwazi road and Nalweyo – Nkooko – Ntwetwe – Masode road 

President Museveni however, faulted disoriented Members of Parliament on delays for such major infrastructural projects because they appropriate government funds to non priority areas and asked the people of Kiboga District to task their leaders on proper planning and utilisation of government funds and cautioned the electorate in Kiboga district against voting mediocres into positions of leadership to avoid historical mistakes.

Candidate Museveni dismissed what he called ‘misguidance’ from sections of people who define leadership and politics at large as a mere game and recalled Uganda’s political turmoil of 1966, 1971, 1979 and 1980 – 1986 when the then leaders failed to address Uganda’s leadership question until the NRM government assumed power and ended the rebound of such scenarios for 40 years counting.

President Museveni noted that the NRM is the only political party with proven ability to quit the country and offer the much desired leadership as so far demonstrated and rallied Youths in the country to Watch out for ‘misleaders’ and novice politicians who are focused on dividing the people on sectarian grounds.

President Museveni noted that the NRM fronted the creation of Youth representative slots in Parliament to aid the involvement in leadership for nation building, a clear indicator of the NRM’s good will and strategy for youth involvement in National Leadership and development that he says his government remains committed to foster ahead and added that the NRM government is committed to further peace and the unity moving forward.

He promised to follow up with recipients of seedlings in Kiboga District from government’s socioeconomic empowerment initiatives including Operation Wealth creation after observing immense success from farmers in other parts of the country who received coffee seedlings, mago seedlings among other crops.

Kiboga District received 350,000 mango seedlings, hundreds of thousands of coffee seedlings and other supplies from Operation Wealth creation which he wants to monitor on their progress and he did for Karamoja and other districts.

President Museveni advised the people of Kiboga District to take advantage of the to infrastructural developments in their area to harness harness wealth at individual and household levels and mentioned several commercially viable economic enterprises guided on by the NRM government in its Party manifesto and elaborated the NRM’s economic and social development plans for Kiboga District and asked the electorate in the area to extend the party’s tenure in the forthcoming general elections.

The Kiboga District NRM Chairperson Hon Canon Ruth Nankabirwa who is also the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development read the district memorandum where she highlighted several achievements and gains that need to be protected.
