The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that the NRM government’s ultimate goal is seeing all Ugandans fully enrolled into the money economy through direct support and guidance from government’s socioeconomic empowerment funds like the Parish Development Model, Youth Livelihood Program, Women Entrepreneurship Program and others.
President Museveni said he is not interested in leading poor people which is why he aims at ensuring the elevation of all people from poverty for a progressive Uganda and rallied the people of Mityana District to partake of all Socioeconomic empowerment schemes initiated by government.
While addressing a campaign rally at Ssaza Grounds in Mityana District, President Museveni reported that Uganda’s coffee growing initiative has boosted coffee exports to ten million bags with over US 200 billion dollar earnings and promised additional tarmac roads for Mityana District stretching from Kanoni – Manyi – Mityana to Ssekanyonyi.
President Museveni however blamed delays of some infrastructural developments on opposition politicians who are diversionary and disoriented on strategic planning for government programs and rallied the people of Mityana District to preserve the prevailing peace and security for more development.
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate said that the government committed to construct more government primary and secondary schools in Mityana District to supplement on the already existing 156 government Primary Schools and 13 government Secondary Schools in the Sistrict and further assured the people of Mityana District on health sector improvements and economic infrastructural developments.
President Museveni guided on the 3 core aspects of the NRM wealth creation plans including the 4 acre model, proper commercial enterprise selection and enterprises selection and announced a massive irrigation scheme for the district to enhance agriculture mechanisation and production and has rallied the people of Mityana to preserve wetlands to support that planned initiative.
President Museveni made it categorically clear that the government plans to replicate the irrigation scheme at the presidential banana development initiative in Bushenyi district for farmers in Mityana district to boost their farm yields and promised to scale up water distribution efforts in the district beyond the current 86% reach across the 613 Villages.
While speaking at the same function, the NRM first National Vice Chairperson Alhaji Moses Kigongo tasked members of the NRM fraternity in Mityana District to maintain consistency and discipline for a consolidated win in the forthcoming general elections.
