The Patriotic League of Uganda Kanungu District Chapter led by the District Coordinator Charles Asiimwe Bamuhata this week launched the Registration Book to endorse Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as President of Uganda starting from 2031 and beyond.
The event took place at EMMADO Gardens in Kirima Sub-county in Kanungu District and was attended by the District PLU Leaders who include the Vice Chairperson Kaganga Nuwamanya, the Secretary General Dr Brian Tumwakire, and the Publicity Secretary Ambrose Turyakira.
While speaking at the event, Asiimwe Bamuhata explained that they were not only launching the registration book to endorse Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba but also to explain to innagurate the PLU Sub-county Cordinators and explain to them the purpose of forming committees from the district to the Village level.
He explained that all PLU members have a role to play and are exp3cted to do this with a purpose, unity and service so that they are felt at grassroots to be serving the people.
Asiimwe Bamuhata said that basing on the previous NRM performance in the Presidential, Parliamentary, District and Local Council 1 elections, they are now targeting 150,000 signatures to endorse Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
While speaking at the same event the PLU District Envoy Moses Turyakira said that all of them have a role to play in coordinating the Leqgue activities from the village level to the Revional Level.
He said that that they are expected to serve by explaining the NRM Manifesto, reach out to the communities and monitor how government funds are used and encourage the people to join governprogrames like Parish Development Model.
He made it categorically clear that that it no longer a rumor, because Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba will be on the ballot paper come 2031.
The event was attended by former Kinkizi East MP Dr Hamlet Kabushenga, Kanungu Town Concil Mayor Godfrey Karabenda, Kanungu NRM flagbearer Rev Justus Tibersigwa and Kanungu Woman NRM flag bearer Betty Namara Kataba.
