The Police in Kabale District are investigating a case of murder by mob that occurred at Ryaruhinda Cell in Mukarangye Ward in Katuna Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as 30 year old Tumwesigye Amon, a resident of Karago Cell, in Kyasano Parish in Kamuganguzi Sub-county, also in Kabale District.
It is alleged that on 30th October 2026, the deceased was suspected of burglary and an alarm was raised by residents, attracting a mob that descended on him and beat him to death.
According to Tumushime, Kigezi Region has registered 2 cases of murder by mob in the last two days, and the Police have since appealed to the general public to desist from taking the law into their hands and let the law take its course.
