NEWS– Scores are feared to have dead as Rukungiri bound bus collided head on with a taxi that was headed to Kampala.
The Wednesday morning crash according to sources happened in Nyamunuka town council in Ntungamo district.
The accident involved a Kasaba bus that collided with a drone taxi from Rukungiri registration number UBN 337N belonging to a one Robert Arineitwe that was headed to Kampala whereas Kasaba was enroute from Kampala to Rukungiri.
The taxi, which was traveling from Rukungiri to Kampala, was reportedly changing a tire when the bus, en route from Kampala to Rukungiri, veered off the road and collided with it.
The tragic accident occurred at Kakiika Muruka parish in Nyamunuka Town Council, Ntungamo district at around 6 AM.
The taxi, registration number UBN 337H, was driven by Robert Arineitwe and was carrying ten passengers. According to eyewitnesses, only two of the passengers survived.
The bus involved in the collision which belongs to Kasaaba Bus Company has the registration number UAP 385. Police have arrived at the scene but have yet to release an official statement.
