KIGEZI– The Police in Kanungu District have registered a fatal accident that took place in Nyabushoro in Rushaka parish in Nyamirama Sub County involving motorcycle registration number UFC 372Z leaving the rider Burobe Wilson dead.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident saying that Burobe collided with another motorcycle registration number UEM 141V whose rider fled the scene and is on the run.
Burobe was a resident of Mukibarama in Nyakashure Parish in Nyamirama Sub-county and was carrying a passenger identified as Twakire Amos who hailed from Kanyabizo village in Nyamirama Sub-county.
The rider of motorcycle registration number UEM 141V was carrying timber in a dangerous manner and he ended up with the oncoming motorcycle leading to the accident.
Meanwhile the Police in Kisoro District have registered a case where a 25 year old man identified as Niyonsaba Ozius was hit by a rock at Kabeshere land mine in Gakoro village in Rwingwe Parish in Nyakabande Sub-county and died.
The report was made by Ms Mukankusi Gertrude after receiving information that her son had been covered by the falling debris/rocks of sand in the said sand mine of Kabeshero and died.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate said that when the Police received the information, the team led by Mutolere Police Station Officer in Charge Ntarikutimana Seith and other police officers visited the scene and retrieved the body made statements from the witnesses and the postmortem examination was done at the scene and body handed over to the relatives for descent burial.
