KAKUMIRO– Two people have died following a road accident on the Kihweza-Kakindo road in Kijanji Sub County, Kakumiro District.
The deceased have been identified as Rwigamba from Kakayo and Pieri, a resident of Bigango LCI in Kijanji parish, Kijanji Sub County, both believed to be in their 30s.
They were riding a Bajaji motorcycle registration number UFC 395T when the accident occurred around 7:30 PM last evening in Bigango village.
Their motorcycle collided with a Fuso Fighter, registration number UAX 353H. The driver of the Fuso, who remains unidentified, fled the scene immediately after the accident.
Witnesses attribute the accident to poor mechanical condition of the Fuso, noting that only one headlamp was functioning, which might have confused the motorcycle rider into thinking it was another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
