KAMPALA- The NRM 1st National Vice Chairman, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo, has flagged off the second round of the digitisation exercise of the party membership register in 16 data centres spread across the country.

The event took place at the party headquarters at plot 10 Kyadondo Road, Nakasero in Kampala to facilitate this next phase, 16 data centres have been established across the country, where digitisation teams will input and verify membership details.

The exercise follows last month’s successful update and registration of the party members in all 72,000 villages across the country.

The flag-off activity featured other members of the Central Executive Committee, including Gidudu Mafabi (Elders’ League), Lydia Wanyoto (Women’s League), James Tweheyo (Workers’ League), Gabriel Kato (PWDs) and Gaddafi Nassuru (Youth League).

Al Hajji Kigongo said that their presence underscored the importance of the exercise in strengthening party structures and ensuring an up-to-date and credible register.

Vice Chairman Hajji Kigongo appealed to the responsible teams to ensure a credible exercise in all the centres and cautioned the teams against interfering in matters not related to their mandated roles, like soliciting money from politicians to make irregular entries.

Stick to your mandated roles and avoid interfering in matters beyond your responsibilities,” Al Hajji Kigongo said.

The digitisation of the NRM membership register is expected to provide a reliable database that will aid in future party activities, including internal elections, mobilisation efforts, and policy implementation and by leveraging technology, the party aims to eliminate errors, reduce manipulation, and enhance efficiency in managing its extensive membership base.
