KAMPALA- The president of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC at Najjanankumb, Patrick Amuriat, has clarified that the Delegates conference that was organized by the Katonga faction was null and void.
He noted that whatever transpired in the conference as illegal following the court order that was issued by Justice Esther Nambayo rejecting Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa the national chairman of Katonga group to call the conference while Justice Musa Ssekaana cleared Najjanankumbi leadership to convene last year and elected new party leaders.
His remarks follow the Monday delegates’ conference that convened at Katonga and resolved to dissolve FDC and form a new political party within a period of six.
Speaking to the media at the party’s head offices Najjanankumbi leadership, Amuriat, highlighted that his leadership is recognized by the regulator of political parties in Uganda and their still getting funds from the electoral commission as per law establishes thus no one can dissolve it.
Amuriat noted that it’s only the rightful leaders of the party who can dissolve it according to the party constitution article 36.
He also wondered how people like Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago who have little knowledge about the FDC can spearhead the move to dissolve it.

However Amuriat said with the formation of a new political party, they have no objections since it’s there constitutional right.
