NEWS– It is like adding salt to the wound here in western Uganda as another bus crashed just a day after fatal bus accident that left 6 people dead in Ntungamo district.
News reaching our news desk has it that scores have been injured following a terrific accident involving a Ugandan bound bus registration number UBP 415C belonging to the POKO POKO executive bus company.
From our reliable sources, the accident happened near Rwimi bridge in Bunyangabu as it headed to Kasese from Kampala.
It is alleged that the driver of the Bus saw a SinoTruck already down on the road and tried to brake but instead the bus skid and fell.
It is also rumoured that the SinoTruck on falling splashed oil on the Road and that this could be the cause of the skidding.
The injured passengers have been taken at Kilembe Mines and St.Mary’s Hospitals respectively in Kasese town nursing serious injuries and the Bus was towed to Kangoma Check point.
By press time, security operatives were already at the scene but had not yet issued any official statement regarding the accident to confirm the cause and the victims.
This comes barely a single day after a fatal accident that involved a Toyota hiace and Rukungiri based kasaba bound bus that left 6 people dead and others critically injured at Kakiika village, Muruka parish, Nyamunuka town council Ntungamo district along Ntungamo -Rukungiri road on 12th Juneb2024 at around 6:10am.
