KAMPALA– News reaching our editorial desk has it that the renowned news anchor Rita Kanya has officially stepped down from her position at National Media’s NTV after a successful five-year tenure.

On Thursday night, Kanya officially bid farewell to viewers during her final news bulletin at the station.

During her farewell, emotional Rita was joined by her colleagues who presented her with a bouquet as a token of appreciation for her contribution to the team during her time at the Serena-based station.

Expressing her gratitude, Rita acknowledged the incredible experience she had during her five years at the station and extended her thanks to the Nation Media Group for their unwavering commitment to delivering accurate, bold, and insightful news.

As Rita concludes her journey at NTV, her fans have expressed their well wishes for her future endeavors.

Although her next plans remain undisclosed, we extend our best wishes to her as she embarks on the next chapter of her career.

She joins other team members that have left the same Television’s newsroom including Faridah Nakazibwe, Frank Walusimbi who is now the Public Relations Officer at UNHCR, Hernrt Zziwa who joined the National Planning Authority as the Communications Officer, among many others.

However, the Serena Based Television station has remained the trusted source of the news to the public given its strong and vibrant team including Solomon Kawesa, Jjingo Francis, Patrick Mukasa among others.
