NEWS- A form five student in Bushenyi District has been pronounced dead after collapsing during an end year examination.
The deceased has been identified by the Greater Bushenyi Region Police spokesman Marcial Tumusiime as Nickson Muyambi 20, a student at St. Kagwa Bushenyi High School, in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
According to Tumusiime, Muyambi who hails from Kashare 1 village in Mirongo Parish of Kashare Sub County in Mbarara district died on Friday, November 17th 2023 at around 2:30Pm in the School’s science laboratory.
The Police mouthpiece told the press that after collapsing in an examination room, fellow students carried him immediately to the school clinic for first aid after noticing that he was experiencing difficulty in breathing.
Godfrey Azahura, the St. Kagwa Bushenyi High School Deputy headteacher told this reporter that Muyambi was then transferred to Ishaka Adventist Hospital for further medical attention where she was sadly pronounced dead.
Tumusiime confided to the press that Muyambi’s body was transferred to Kampala International Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination to ascertain the likely cause of this death.
The incident comes days after another student Capson Rwamamanzi who was in form six at Kitagata Secondary School in Sheema District was found dead in a pit latrine after days missing.
