KASESE- Two people are confirmed to have died of anthrax in Kasese District some of the top officials in the District has confirmed.

Anthrax is a serious disease usually caused by Bacillus anthracis bacteria. It’s found naturally in soil around the world and commonly affects livestock and wild animals.

People usually contract anthrax if they come in contact with infected animals or contaminated animal products like meat milk among others.

Lt. Maate Magwara the Deputy Resident District Commission for Kasese in charge of Bukonzo County confirmed the incident on Thursday morning in an exclusive interview with our reporter.

The deputy RDC who confirmed that two people had died of the disease in Kasese District didn’t give more details about the deceased

He thus warned the residents to avoid feeding on meat that is not verified by the technical personnel especially Nsanga meat which is having a center point in Kibara trading center in Nyakiyumbu sub-county.
