NEWS- The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace, the Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has cautioned couples to rely more on God instead of traditional healers.
The Archbishop made the call over the weekend while presiding over a thanksgiving service at All Saints’ Church at Manyangwa in Gayaza, Wakiso district for Dr. Obed Kabanda and his wife Louise Kabugho, who were celebrating 20 years of marriage.
Dr. Kabanda was also giving thanks to God for enabling him complete his PhD successfully and his wife Mrs. Louise Kabugho Kabanda finishing her 3rd degree.
Dr. Kabanda completely his PhD in Organizational Learning and Leadership while his wife Kabugho got her third degree in Human Resource Management from Claremont University California USA.
Currently, Dr. Kabanda is the Senior Director of Global partnerships and acting Lead Development at Global Fund for Women, an organization in the USA that supports women’s organizations in over 170 countries.
In his remarks while delivering keynote to the congregation, Archbishop Kaziimba urged married couples to always seek God’s intervention than rushing to the witchdoctors for help.
To the married women, Archbishop Kazimba, advised them to always practice patience, humility and resilience, revealing that some married women have been victims of witchcraft looking for favors and children.
Bishop Emeritus Zebedee Masereka Kahangwa of South Rwenzori Diocese, who also graced the thanksgiving, told the congregation that he has also spent 56 years in marriage, and quickly attributed his success to God’s guidance since it is built on his foundation.
Bishop Masereka advised Kabanda and his wife to remain faithful and always put God first in whichever they go through.
Speaking in a joyful mood, Dr. Obed Kabanda thanked God for so far what he has done for his family including their four children and the good life.
Later after the church service, the Archbishop launched the couple’s book titled “From Dream to Destiny” A tale of Patience, Humility and Resilience.
The Archbishop Kazimba urged the Dr. Kabanda and his wife Kabugho to live an exemplary life.
