KAMPALA- When it comes to tourism and making Uganda proud in and out , beauty with brains is at the fore-front as the 29 contestants from various regions were selected at the Grand Finale of Miss Tourism Uganda 2024/ 2025 hosted at Serena Hotel , Kampala.
At 7:00pm, the mood was all right from outside with the green carpet for the dazzle plus all other aspects for a perfect, elegant and grandeur night.
The event kicked off with an opening dance from all the finalists from the 11 regions that were represented clad in the black and short fitting skirts with red purple, red tops and others black all through.
Since most of the regions were in check , the cheers from the audience rooting for their respective queens gave morale and confidence to them and this was evident especially from the Karamoja team who were outstanding from the onset.
They also displayed solidarity when one of their artist was performing to the extent they were called upon on stage by Patrick Salvador, the host master of ceremony to give the audience an iconic dance from their land.
This year the theme is ” Tourism and Peace” so the contestants were asked questions in those spaces and this was one of ways to screen those to progress to the other level.
The second show case was with the national costume, with this all of the queens with attires that depicted what our mother land Uganda was all about.
As the soiree kept wearing out , they selected out 10 and from which they zeroed down to five among who were the final three.
The chief guest, Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba understood the assignment by donning the cultural attires from Karamoja and her team to perfectly match the occasion.
She noted that it was her first time to attend the event and requested to be invited every year so that she could be apart of the formidable night.
” We are all here , past midnight because there is peace in the country and it resonates well with the theme for Tourism and peace. For sure, this should be included in the budget and will share it with the responsible parties at Parliament and also schedule a meeting with the president so that you can share with him your vision since you are doing well to sell the image of our country” Hon. Lumumba Kasule Added.
She also thanked the team for tireless efforts in making the crowning ceremony joyous and fun.
After her speech, she was asked by the Patrick Salvador to “show what she got” and off course she obliged and they had a modelling session that kept the audience smiling and cheering.
