KASESE- The Police in Rwenzori East Region in Kasese District is holding two suspects on allegations of killing their friend while fight for a girl.
The deceased has been identified as Kambale Simon who was stubbed to death by a gang of boys at Vegas down bar majengo- kyondo at around 1:00am in Nyamwamba Division Kasese Municipality
It is said that they were fighting for a girl. Police and military have so far arrested two suspects.
SP Nelson Tumushime has confirmed the incident and reported that investigations are underway.
In other news, a fatal road accident on Tuesday, 24th December 2024, at approximately 6:40 PM in Buyanja Town, located along the Rukungiri-Ntungamo Road, near Buyanja Sacco in Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri District.
The accident involved a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle (registration No. UFU 576C), which was traveling from Kebisoni toward Rukungiri Town at high speed.
The victim, identified as Njondo Gilbert, a 33-year-old resident of Buyanja Town, was crossing the road when the motorcycle struck him. Gilbert sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The rider of the motorcycle, whose identity is not yet confirmed, was critically injured and was rushed to Nyakibale Hospital for treatment. He remains unconscious.
Police responded promptly to the scene, documenting the wreckage and retrieving the motorcycle, which has since been parked at the Rukungiri Central Police Station yard for inspection. The body of the deceased was taken to Rwakabengo Health Centre Mortuary for a postmortem.
Initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused by reckless driving and over-speeding on the part of the motorcycle rider.
