NEWS- Rwenzori East region Police in Kasese District is investigating circumstances under which a journalist working with BBS television was allegedly beaten and his gargets destroyed at Unique Valley primary school on Monday morning.

SP Luke Mbusa the Rwenzori East region Police liaison officer has identified the journalist as Robert Kule who was beaten by one of the staff of the said school when he was at the institution covering the wrangles existing between the school operators and Nyakatonzi Cooperative Union.

He says journalist was rescued by police and was then advised them to go for a medical checkup to get more evidences.

Eventually Security Officers in Kasese District last evening suspended the operations of Unique Valley Primary School.

The directive was made by Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Busongora County; Mr. Zepher Mubingwa says that the school is currently not safe to accommodate the learners amidst the wrangles existing between the school operators and Nyakatonzi Cooperative Union.
