KAMPALA- The former Forum for Democratic Change president and four times presidential candidate Rt. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe has condemned continued rampant abuse of human rights by the Uganda Police force.

This follows the incident in which his fellow opposition leader and the National Unity Platform party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi wine was left injured in a scuffle with Police.

Kyagulanyi was on Tuesday 3rd September 2024 left with a wound on the his left leg after he has “intentionally” hit by a tear gas canister by a police officer in Bulindo, Kira municipality in district.

Besigye described the Kyagulanyi incident as horrible and that it was uncalled for police aggression against political opposition leaders.

“The horrible outcome of what as usual, is totally uncalled for police aggression against political “opposition” leaders”, he said.

He noted that from LOP Ssenyonyi’s brief, the injuries Hon Kyagulanyi suffered were from the Tear Ball Grenades (usually blue coloured) that he said police liberally employs as part of persecution- NOT policing.

Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe condemned the Uganda Police Force for what he called continued rampant abuse of Human Rights and prayed for President Kyagulanyi’s speedy recovery.
