NTUNGAMO- Over Two thousand fifty hundred (2,500) youths drawn from across different denominations in South Ankole Diocese on Sunday concluded a four day Diocesan annual 10th Youth Convention held at Kyamate Secondary school Ntungamo municipality.
With the theme “Imitating God’s goodness by doing good”, the convention also drew various experts from different professions to educate and inspire the youths for laudable lifestyles and greater heights.
Closing the convention today, South Ankole Diocesan Bishop the Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, said that youths are the future church and great leaders and it is too dangerous if they aren’t to properly guide them in the right paths of life that would engender impact and purposeful life in the society.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe reminded all believers that for the church and Nation to continue with Christian virtues there must be strong investment in the Young generation with the right word of God.
The bishop, flanked by his wife Mama Lillian Ahimbisibwe applauded all speakers for being articulate and asked youth to practice what they were taught.
He commended all parishioners for supporting the Diocese and the Youth Convention to be successful.
Rev Canon Dr Duncans Mugumya the West Ankole Diocesan Partner’s coordinator who doubles as commissioner of Physical and sports in the ministry of Education and sports implored them to be closer to God and let His word be the standard of their lives.
Rev Patrick Kwariima the chaplain of Muntuyera High school Kitunga and chairman organizing committee asked youth to be good ambassadors in imitating God’s goodness.
Rev Asaph Mujuni Diocesan Youth coordinator hailed the bishop for investing in youth as the future church.
The city businessman hails from Ruhaama East Advan Mbabazi encouraged Youth to always embrace Christian values and avoid promiscuity as the only way to have a positive life.
Over one thousand (1000) youth surrendered to Jesus Christ and the next year’s Annual youth convention is scheduled for 8th- 11th Jan, 2026.
