NTUNGAMO- The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has challenged Ugandans to celebrate Christmas responsibly and avoid acts that may result in domestic violence during celebrations to mark the birth of Christ
Speaking to our reporter at his pastoral home Kyamate yesterday, bishop Ahimbisibwe advised the people of Ntungamo and Uganda at large that they should not over spend their finances only for these few days on things that do not help them but rather invest heavily in education of their children.
He noted that education is only way to sustainable development of human kind therefore encouraged parents and guardians to eat little but save for their children’s future.
He also underscored a need for them prioritize farming especially coffee growing, as this will help to fight poverty and foster development.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe said coffee is a project once embarked on by all Ugandans and institutions will foster development and improve the livelihoods of all Ugandans.
The diocese embarked on coffee growing in March 2019 after a decision was reached mandating all churches in the diocese to grow coffee as a source of income.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe and Ma’am Lillian who has returned from Nigeria hailed the directors and management of Radio Ankole for embracing income venture programs aimed at equipping it’s listeners with skills to earn a living.
He rallied the community to listen and support Radio Ankole Ntungamo in it’s initiatives to guaranteed it’s development and serve the community diligently.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe wished all believers a merry Christmas and happy new year 2025.
On behalf of the directors and management of Radio Ankole the acting manager Elly Katahinga commended the South Ankole Diocese bishop the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe and Mama Lillian for continued support towards fulfilling God’s work through the airwaves of Radio Ankole which has transfigured may believers spiritually, physically and economically.
