NEWS- The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has encouraged Christians to use the festive season as a time of spiritual renewal, fostering stronger connections with Jesus Christ, and promoting positive change in their lives and relationships.
Bishop Akanjuna made this call on Monday, December 25th 2023 while delivering a sermon during a Christmas day celebration service at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Rugarama Deanery, in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality.
Bishop Akanjuna reminded Christians that turning away from ungodly practices is essential, emphasizing that having faith in God is crucial, as He is ever-present in our lives. He advised Christians to focus on establishing a deep bond with Jesus Christ, emphasizing that He understands every struggle people go through.
Bishop Akanjuna urged Christians to utilize the festive season celebration as a means to turn back to Christ and change from their ungodly ways as well as getting saved so that he renews their lives.
Drawing a lesson from the story of Herold, the great Jewish king, the prelate advised Christians not to regress to their former ways rather embrace Jesus Christ to build their homes, families to bring joy and happiness into their lives.
Akanjuna added that they should be changed, reminding them to even talk and befriend their enemies and be responsible in spreading the gospel of the Lord.
