NEWS– The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi Rt. Rev Gaddie Akanjuna Kigezi has asked married couples to always maintain trustworthiness to their respective partners and put their marriage on Christ’s foundation if they are to have a successful marriage and families as well.
Bishop Akanjuna said this preaching during a mass wedding service of 14 couples at St. James Kijuguta C.O.U Parish in Kabale Municipality where he said this shall strengthen and tighten the family development due to effective communication.
According to Bishop Akanjuna, trustworthiness is essential for a successful marriage emphasizing that married couples need to build their marriage on the foundation of Christ, as this will provide a strong basis for their union.
The Bishop Akanjuna also explained that trust and faithfulness are crucial for a relationship to thrive urging couples to prioritize effective communication, which he believes will strengthen and tighten family development.
The mass wedding included couples of Mr. George and Evas Tindimwebwa, Justus & Brenda Musingize, Johnson & Lydia Byoruganda, Aggrey & Prudence Byamukama, Julius & Ruth Tumusiime, Simon & Immaculate Nahabwe, Nicholas & Winnie Kato, Benon & kate Bitarabeho, Justus & Janet Nkarulembera, Milton & Hellen Bbuka, Justus & Kate Barihehi, Moses & Jacklin Twijukye, Robert & Fiona, and Dan & Necklet Habaasa.
In another development, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, has directed church leaders to procure land titles to protect Church land from land grabbers.
Bishop Akanjuna made this call during the confirmation service of 53 Christians into the Anglican faith and while delivering the Christmas message to the Christians of Emmanuel Kasinde Church Of Uganda Parish in Kikungiri Archdeaconry in Kitumba Sub-county of Kabale district.
Bishop Akanjuna explained that many people have lost trust and hope in public institutions, to the extent of grabbing church land citing an incident that occurred on the 9th of August 2020 when St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Katwe-Ndeeba in the Diocese of Namirembe, after 40 years of service, was demolished by the agents of land developers.
The matter is now in the courts of law for resolution. Bishop Akanjuna urged church leaders to procure land titles to prevent such incidents from happening.
During the same service, Bishop Akanjuna also urged Christians to put their trust in Jesus as their only savior, advising against adopting a hearsay policy and emphasized the need for following the word of Jesus through implementation.
