NEWS- The bishop of the diocese of Kigezi Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna has raised a red flag on the low parenting system in Kigezi sub region which he says has contributed much to increased immorality of children.
Bishop Akanjuna revealed this at Bishop Kivengere Girls Muyebe School’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Preaching to the audience, Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna showed concern on how the world is full of domestic violence, parents don’t care to their children, divorce and rape are high. The Prelate added that it’s so unfortunate that children nowadays are brought up with televisions.
Peace Kivengere Rwanga one of the directors said that the vision of the school came from their mother who struggled much to attain education.
She added that it used to her mother three days to walk from Rukungiri to kabale looking for girls to study at Bishop Kivengere Girl’ Muyebe
The school head teacher Byomuhangi Eunice called for government support to have the complex stolid structure which will accommodate classrooms and computer laboratory and provide enough space at school
The Kabale District woman MP Hon Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire and strongly advocated for boy child education
The first lady Janet Kataha Museveni Minister of Education and sports who was represented by the state Minister for Defense and Veteran Affairs (Defense) Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi commended the vision bearers for having stated the school during the times when it was hard to think of Girl Child Education.
