NEWS- The Bishop of the diocese of kigezi the Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has urged members of the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit society LTD to embrace patriotism as a fundamental principle for the prosperity of their SACCO.

The Bishop who doubles as the patron of the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit society LTD made this call during the annual General meeting held at Mother’s Union Hall in central division Kabale municipality.

Bishop Akanjuna stressed the crucial role of unwavering commitment in guaranteeing the success of the SACCO.

He also emphasized the necessity for members to embody genuine dedication and love for the SACCO’s mission, calling on the newly elected officials to prioritize the interests of the members they represent and to aspire for their SACCO to serve as a model for others

Natumanya Erasmus, the District Commercial Officer of Kabale District Local Government, has urged the committee to develop a sound business idea aligned with market needs and to engage in thorough planning and budgeting practices to ensure the continuous development of the SACCO.

He has also called upon members to commit to shared goals, action plans, and practices established by the board members and management, stating that for a SACCO to develop, it must have skilful management and a responsible board.

The chairman of the executive committee, Rev. Can. Milton Nkurunungi, who also serves as the diocesan secretary for Kigezi Diocese, has emphasized that they are planning to expand the SACCO, thereby relocating the main offices from their current location to midtown and opening branches for the convenience of delivering services to clients.

He has called upon church leaders and heads of institutions in archdeaconries to mobilize efforts aimed at increasing membership in the SACCO, thereby strengthening marketing channels and strategies.

The Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD was established in 2015 and currently boasts 1454 members with a single branch.
