NEWS- The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has encouraged parents to prioritize vocational learning for their children over pursuing high-demand white-collar jobs.
The bishop reiterated this message during the confirmation ceremony at St. John’s Bugongi Church in the northern division of Kabale municipality, where 129 confirmands were welcomed into the Anglican faith.
The bishop emphasized the importance of enrolling in vocational skilling schools rather than pursuing higher education in universities as a means of reducing the number of unemployed graduates.
He added that when a child is skilled in any field, they are capable of setting up their own work that will pay them well. Therefore, he called upon parents to always advise their children to pursue vocational skills alongside formal education.

He also called upon parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children, citing that when a child is well-mentored in Christ, their life becomes easier, and they are more likely to succeed.
Bishop Akanjuna advised Christians to devise means of working with their available resources to make their families better, urging them to use their available resources to develop their households.
