Bishop Dan Zoreka takes a picture with the team that allocated land

The Bishop of Diocese of Kinkiizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has allocated plots of land to the Fathers’ Union and the Youth of Diocese of Kinkiizi in a significant move aimed at promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development within the Diocese.

The plots, located along the Kihihi–Ishasha tarmac road near St Andrew’s Church of Uganda, Kihihi Archdeaconry, are strategically positioned to support commercial development and generate sustainable income for the beneficiaries.

The land is intended to be developed for business purposes, with storeyed buildings planned for the plots and the development is expected to create opportunities for shops, offices, rental spaces and other commercial activities, while also enhancing the appearance and economic value of the area.

Speaking during the land allocation, the Bishop emphasized the importance of putting church assets to productive use so that they can contribute to the growth of ministry and the welfare of church members and the wider community.

For the Fathers’ Union and Youth, the initiative presents an opportunity to move beyond depending solely on contributions and instead establish income-generating assets that can support church activities, youth programmes, community initiatives and other development priorities.

Community members have welcomed the initiative, describing it as an investment in the future of both the church and the wider community.

The success of the project, however, will depend on proper planning, responsible management, transparent utilization of the land and commitment to the proposed developments.

As the beneficiaries prepare for the next stage, the community will be watching with interest to see these plots transformed into modern storeyed commercial buildings that can serve generations to come.

The Bishop was accompanied by the Diocesan Secretary Rev Elizabeth Kamara, Diocesan youth coordinator Rev Steven Niwabeine who doubles as the Estates manager, the Archdeacon Kihihi Rev Can Herbert Kiconco Father’s Union Leader Rev Johnson Turyagyenda, Father’s union members and some youths.
