All Saints Church of Uganda in Butogota Town Council was today filled with joy, praise and thanksgiving as 143 Christians received the Sacrament of Confirmation in a grand service presided over by the Bishop of Diocese of Kinkiizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka.
The colorful ceremony brought together Christians from across the parish and beyond, marking a new spiritual milestone in the lives of the newly confirmed and the congregation rejoiced with songs of worship and ululations as families celebrated this sacred moment of faith and commitment to Christ.
In his pastoral massage, Bishop Zoreka reminded the believers that politics have no place in church services or funeral gatherings and emphasized that the House of God must remain a sanctuary of unity and peace and not division.
The Bishop further encouraged the Christians to walk with a good heart softened by God Himself, saying that only a humble and contrite heart can reflect true discipleship.
During the sermon, the Diocesan ICT Officer and preacher of the day, Rev Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize passionately urged the congregation to take up their cross, abstain, and follow Jesus Christ who alone can reward them with eternal life and this message inspired many to renew their spiritual commitment and live lives that reflect the calling of Christ.
The Congregation was also addressed by the wife to the Bishop, Maama Flora Zoreka who expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Christians of Butogota and the entire Diocese of Kinkiizi for their unwavering love and support toward Bishop Zoreka’s ministry, which has now spanned to over 15 years.
In his development report the Bishop’s Commissary and Archdeacon of All Saints Church Butogota Ven Canon Enos Mukombe, lauded Bishop Zoreka for his visionary leadership, particularly for allowing the Child Development Center which is supported by Compassion International to operate in the area, a program that continues to transform the lives of needy children and families.
Ven Can Mukombe also highlighted several ongoing projects that include Kayoza Primary School, which currently serves 658 children and is constructing a girls’ dormitory to promote education for the girl child.
He also pointed out Rushambya COU Sub-parish has started a nursery school, ensuring early childhood education in the community and the church has successfully constructed a commercial building in Butogota Town Council, which is now generating income for ministry sustainability.
He also said that All Saints Church – Butogota COU has also planted six acres of tea plantation, a project aimed at supporting the church’s long-term development and they are in the final stages of completing its magnificent church building, which stands as a beacon of faith and resilience in the region.
