Boona FM Director Wenceslass Maanige and Station Manager Namanya Santurina aka Kakyene

NEWS- Being one of the best performing sectors of the Uganda’s economy, tourism needs to be developed day by day so as it can fully contribute to the national budget.

In efforts to develop local tourism, the Rukungiri based Boona FM has launched a 4 days mega tour to Bunyoro that will see revealers enjoy the difference features of the great Bunyoro kitara region.

This was on Monday, 2th September 2024 launched in a press conference held at the grounds of Platinum classic suites Hotel in Rwenkuraijo, Buyanja town council in Rukungiri district.

Mr. Wenceslas Maanige, the Boona FM proprietor noted that they are committed to promoting local tourism and also boost other people’s businesses in the area.

Kakyene Namanya, the Boona FM station manager and one of the tour initiators revealed that this aims at promoting local tourism through mindset change about tourism.

He noted that this will help people to compare different cultures, experience different weather and how different activities like mining and extraction of oil are done stressing that looking at something once in life is far better than hearing about it a thousand times.

Onyete Beingana, the Rukungiri district tourist officer applauded Boona FM and platinum classic suites for the innovation stressing that it will help in creating employment opportunities, development of local tourism sites among many others.

The interested individuals will be required to pay transport fares of shs. 170,000 for the singles and shs. 320,000 for the couples.

The four day tour will commence on 7th, November 2024 and touring places are  Hoima City, Kabalega Hoima International Airport,  Wanseko Landing sight on Lake Albert and Albert Nile, Marchison National Park and Marchison falls and will conclude on 10th November 2024.

Registration is already on going and will conclude on 15th October for proper reservations.
