NEWS- Nabutuwa Kevin has expressed her interest in returning to politics and lead the people of Bududa to a better future as their Woman Member of Parliament come 2026.
“The district is facing poor service delivery and a National shame over theft allegations.” She said.
Nabutuwa made these remarks on Sunday afternoon during a press conference, assuring journalists that there is a leadership crisis in the district.
Reflecting on her past political journey, she said, “I lost in the NRM primaries, which were conducted unfairly. We were robbed our victory, but I chose not to return as an independent candidate to avoid disrupting the party, because to me politics is not a do or die but a service.”
“I was in politics, but I didn’t make it. Everyone saw what happened. Now, I have been asked once again to come and serve my people, and I am ready,” Nabutuwa noted.
Though she had previously stepped away from politics, Nabutuwa said the pressing leadership issues in Bududa have called her back to action.
“Our district has suffered national humiliation, being labeled as thieves. Wherever we go, we are met with this stigma, yet the Bamasaba people have never been known for theft. Now, Bududa bears this shame, so my people have asked me to return and serve them.”
She added, “The leadership crisis in Bududa has created widespread demand for change, and I am prepared to lead.”
Nabutuwa pointed to the lack of progress in infrastructure development as evidence of the district’s leadership failures. “Schools and health facilities are in poor conditions, and the presidential pledge to construct Bududa Circular Road remains unfulfilled, despite being included in the budget every year.
Our representatives in Parliament are more interested in personal gains than in serving the people and not following up on these government programs.”
Nabutuwa appealed to the people of Bududa for their continued support and prayers. “I have always felt your support, and now that you’ve asked me to return, I have accepted. Please stay firm, and together we can push for real leadership and development.”
