Byengoma handing over equipment to Bishop Akanjuna

NEWS- The family of Nicholas Byengoma, the proprietor of Acadia Lodges, together with his friends, on Tuesday January 30th 2024 donated medical assortments to Rugarama Hospital in Kabale District.

The medical assortments equipment included 40 delivery beds, 40 mattresses, 40 dining tables, 10 baby cots, 5 baby incubators, 2 baby warmers, 40 bedside cupboards, and 2 sophisticated operating tables to the hospital.

Handing over the medical assortments to the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, at the ceremony held in the hospital grounds in the Northern division of Kabale municipality, Byengoma said that the equipment was secured from his family friends to help in improving health services at the hospital.

He however challenged the people of Kigezi to maintain a manageable family size and urged them to refrain from alcoholism if they aim to lead a long, healthy life without disease.

Bishop Akanjuna commended the family for supporting health services in the district and asked the hospital administrators to ensure they take good care of the equipment.

The Bishop reminded the people to always lend a helping hand where they can. He also charged the health workers to fulfill their roles as required, urging them not to deviate from their responsibilities.

Dr. Gilbert Arinaitwe Mateeka, the Kabale District Health Office, has expressed gratitude to Byengoma and friends for their generous donation of equipment to the hospital.

Mateeka revealed that the donated equipment will significantly enhance the facility’s ability to care for patients and is optimistic that it will contribute to reducing the overall cost of services at the hospital. The doctor urged the hospital staff to utilize the equipment efficiently and profitably.
