Cavendish University Graduands

KAMPALA- The Minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon Dr Chris Baryomunsi has congratulated Cavendish University Uganda on the 13th Graduation and said that it was a honour to attend as Guest of Honor.

Dr Baryomunsi was today speaking at the Graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024 of Cavendish University Uganda which was also in company of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan who is the reigning Chancellor for Cavendish University.

Minister Baryomunsi said that having started 16 years ago, Cavendish University has passed infant mortality and thanked the parents, students, and lectures and all stakeholders for achievement of this milestone.

In a special way, Minister Baryomunsi congratulated the Resident District Commissioner Kanungu Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire and National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine who have graduated with a Masters and a Bachelor of laws respectively.

The Minister also commended NRM government for the efforts towards education and noted that Uganda has a University in almost every region and that Uganda as a country is now a tracking so many international Students.

He lauded Cavendish University as one of the best Universities in Uganda and added that since Uganda has a young population of up to 73% according to the 2024 Census statistics there is need to advance in technology and plan for the young people, create and  improve the quality of life.

Dr Baryomunsi noted that the graduation comes from a Latin word “gratis” which means a step, and that this means that the graduands must now take that step and welcomed the graduands to the world of challenges but also opportunities.

Minister Baryomunsi took resolute saying that the young people must observe the virtues of honesty, integrity and patience if they are to be better citizens who are incorruptible and make the works a better place to live in.
