NEWS- Niwabiine Seth a third-year student pursuing Bachelors of Agricultural science and entrepreneurship at Uganda Christian university, Bishop Barham college Kabale was over the weekend declared the winner of the University’s Guild Presidency.

Niwabiine defeated Nahabwe Samuel aka Sam Wenyine who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Journalism and communication at the same University.

The winner Niwabiine Seth emerged polled 320 votes, defeating Nahabwe, who polled 253 to become the first runner up.

Announcing the winner at Bishop Barham University’s main hall, the Chairperson of the University Electoral commission Nkundente Disan commended the office of the dean of students and University Administration for supporting the preparation of the election.

Nkundente also appreciated the students for their cooperation, excellent discipline during the electoral process and for turning up in big numbers to vote.

The dean of students at Bishop Barham University Mbalema Apollo congratulated the elected leader Niwabiine and called him upon to cooperate with the management of the University and also to bring together and work with the side that he won if he is to succeed in his term of office.

Speaking to our reporter after being declared the winner, Seth Niwabiine expressed happiness and promised to fight for the rights of the Students in the University using his experience in leadership. 

Niwabiine on a special note thanked the students’ body for the support they showed him and has promised to fulfill his promises as stated in the manifesto.
