NEWS- The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has advised parents to champion their children’s academic pursuits and to embrace the sacred realms of spiritual growth for their future, where the fruits of knowledge and spiritual enlightenment shape not only minds but destinies.
The bishop made these remarks today while leading a confirmation service at St. Paul’s Rukore Church of Uganda, Archdeaconry, where 200 Confirmants were confirmed into the Anglican faith. Bishop Akanjuna emphasized that parents must fulfill their responsibility by providing the necessary requirements for their children to study.
The prelate added that parents should avoid misinterpreting the notion that all children belong to the government, thus urging them to care for their children for a better future.
The prelate also called upon the newly confirmed Christians to use the time of confirmation to repent for all their evil acts and earthly pleasures they have been involving themselves in and turn back to God for spiritual guidance.
Preaching during the service, Reverend Peter Agaba Robertson, the youth worker in the bishop’s house, Challenged Christians to believe in and serve only one God, regardless of the challenges they may face, because walking the journey with Him makes it easier.
He emphasized that Christians shouldn’t pretend to be believers while seeking guidance from other sources before attending church.
Rev. Robertson reminded the Christians that there is only one God, and they should always place their faith in Him as the ultimate authority in all aspects of their lives. He urged them to reject the practice of seeking guidance from other gods and to remain steadfast in their devotion to the one true God.
