RUKUNGIRI- Religious leaders and Christians in the country have called for leadership that focuses on serving humanity with utmost transparency and accountability if they are to spread the holy gospel of God and bring development in their churches.
This call was made yesterday by the Bishop’s Commissary of North Kigezi Diocese, Retired Rev. Nathan Mugisha Kirebete in his sermon while bidding farewell to Retired Rev. Can. Eldard Ahimbisibwe Kashanje, at the headquarters of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry at St. Paul’s Kasoroza Parish.
Rev. Nathan added that people should embrace the project of creating friendships in the areas they go to, adding that friendship is the source of wealth.
He acknowledged Ven. Can. Eldard Kashanje for the service he has done in the diocese and congratulated him upon reaching his time for retirement adding that the diocese has never had issues with him in his time of service.

Edson Mpirime, the head of Laity for Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry congratulated Ven. Can. Kashanje upon his retirement added that he has been a role model and an exemplary member of the clergy where challenged Christians to learn from his history.
He also lauded him for being trustworthy to the church funds and not engaging in fights with other church Christians.
In a bid to thank him for the tremendous work that he has done especially in Nyakagyeme archdeaconry, Christians awarded him with a car to ease his transport in his time of retirement.

Mugarura Isaac, the synod Member from Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry acknowledged Retired Rev Can. Kashanje for the tremendous work that he has done in Nyakagyeme in his six years of service including seconding the elevation of Kyabugashe Parish to an Archdeaconry and Kahoko-Mitooma C.O.U Mashongora C.O.U to parish level.
Isaac also lauded the Diocesan Council for choosing Rev. Ronald Natuhwera to be their new Archdeacon whom he believes will do good towards the development of the Archdeaconry. He added that as the Christians of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, they are ready to receive him and cooperate with him for the betterment of their churches across the Archdeaconry.

Ven. Can. Ahimbisibwe Kashanje thanked God for the guidance he has rendered to him throughout his tenure of service and acknowledged fellow clergy and all Christians for the cooperation and love that they offered to him and his family people.
Ven. Kashanje added that there are ups and downs in working for the church but thanked God that he has reached his retirement without any grudge on any one.
He called upon the Christians of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry to warmly welcome their new Archdeacon, Rev. Ronald Natuhwera, and love and support him and cooperate with him to develop their archdeaconry.
