NEWS- The Police in Kampala Metropolitan Policing area EAST at Kiira Divisional Police station are currently holding a city lawyer on allegations of shooting and killing a security guard.
Police statement indicates that a case of murder by shooting registered under reference number CRB 029/2024 happened on Saturday January 20th 2024 at about 11:13pm at Kings Park Rugby Club at Kakajjo Zone in Bweyogerere Division Kira Municipality Wakiso District.
The case was reported to Police by a 44 year old Leku Richard, a watchman of Kyambogo University and a resident of Bbuto Zone, Bweyogerere Division, Kiira Municipality in Wakiso District.
The statement further details the deceased as 37 year old Buruga Nekeon, a watchman at Kings Park Kakajjo Zone and a resident of Kireka Railways, Bweyogerere Division Kira Municipality Wakiso District.
It is alleged that Ahamya Sam a 47 year old Munyankole Lawyer/Advocate and a resident of Buziga Makindye Division in Kampala District (the suspect) went to Kings Park Rugby Club at around midday (Saturday, 20/01/2024) together with his two children for leisure.
He was armed with a pistol which he left at the entrance with a police officer who was guarding there. At around 10pm, Ahamya got out to retrieve his weapon and upon retrieval, he attempted to perform a Normal Safety Precautions (NSP) with the magazine still in the pistol. In the process he shot and injured one identified as Buruga Nekeon (now deceased).

The killer weapon was recovered and safely kept to be processed by SOCO for forensic analysis as one suspect is in custody at Kira Police Division to help the officers in investigations.
The statement adds that the deceased’s body was conveyed to City mortuary for a postmortem examination.
