KANUNGU- The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe has challenged the clergy to be spiritually phototropic, drawing people towards Christ by being a light that attracts.

Bishop Asiimwe made the remarks on Friday morning while speaking at the All Clergy Conference in the Diocese of Kinkiizi where he referred to Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Bishop Asiimwe emphasized that just as plants instinctively bend towards light, people should naturally be drawn to clerics who radiate God’s presence, wisdom, and love.

“When we, as clergy, reflect the light of Christ, people will gravitate towards us, seeking hope, direction, and truth. We must be so illuminated by God’s presence that our ministries become a beacon, drawing multitudes closer to Him,” Bishop Asiimwe said.

His message was a call for clerics to stand out as guiding lights, influencing their communities, shaping lives, and becoming centers of attraction where faith flourishes.
