BUSHENYI- It was only joy and excitement as Bushenyi residents woke up on Thursday 7th December 2023 to celebrate the belated youths day 2023.
The Chief Guest Hon. Hajjat Hadijah Uzeiye Namyalo was warmly welcomed by hundreds of Ugandans who had earlier gathered at Karooro Okurut Foundation in Bushenyi town, Bushenyi district before proceeding to the main venue Kizinda playground in Kizinda-Kigoma town council in Igara West where she was long awaited for.
After making a crucial stop over at Karooro Foundation, Hajjat Hadijah who is a senior presidential advisor and head of Office of National Coordinator NRM in Kyambogo walked and inspected the art and craft made by Ugandans plus contributing sewing machines to them so that they can improve on production.
Before her speech, she was welcomed by the area village chairperson Tumuhairwe Angelina commonly known as Kyerisa who thanked her for paying them a visit and thanked ONC Coordinator for Bushenyi chapter Kansiime Peace Tibigwisa for being hard working and always delivering their messages to President Museveni.
She thanked President Museveni for loving Ugandans and tasked Hon Hadija Namyalo to tell the president to add more efforts in improving security, education, infrastructure, health sector among others.
Speaking to the excited crowd, Hadija Namyalo vowed to deliver the message to President Museveni and assured Bushenyi residents that they will work together to make sure they support the Karoro Foundation Facility that is aimed at empowering the community with skills so that all Ugandans can benefit from it and develop self sources of income through handwork.
The Chief Guest also assured citizens that President Museveni is still fit and they should be ready to support him in the coming 2026 elections for development, peace, unity and steady progress.
“No one should lie to you that president Museveni is not coming back, our Jjaaja is still young, steady, with a baby face and he is ready to stand for presidency in 2026”, she explained.
She later proceeded to Kizinda play grounds for the function where Bushenyi district leaders including Bushenyi district Woman MP Hon Annet Mugisha, district chairman Jaffari Basajjabalaba, district councilors, Municipal councilors and some selected youths groups attended the function.
The belated Bushenyi Youths day was celebrated under the theme “skilling and empowering the youth” with the slogan of Jaaja Tova Ku main 2026.
