NEWS– Counsel Isaac Atukunda who is eyeing the Rukungiri Municipality Parliamentary seat on Monday July 15th 2024 delivered a consignment of 50 bags of cement he had pledged to Nyakibihinga Primary School.
Counsel Atukunda had made a pledge on June 22nd 2024 as part of his contribution towards the construction of staff houses at Nyabihinga Primary School in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
Hon. Constance Tumusiime, the Rukungiri Municipality speaker who was part of the team that delivered the cement on behalf of Counsel Isaac Atukunda cautioned the residents to always support and elect leaders capable of delivering services to them rather than those thinking about their welfare.
Speaker Tumusiime called on the Municipal residents to watch out in the forthcoming elections and support Counsel Isaac for the developmental hand he has so far rendered to them even before they have mandated him as their legislator.
Nyabihinga Primary school head teacher Kyomuhendo Peace, lauded Counsel Isaac for fulfilling his pledge adding that this will help in the refurbishing the school to a top standard that will provide a conducive studying environment to the pupils.
Hon Mucunguzi Fred, the Eastern Division Councilor to the district, who is also the Political Assistant to Counsel Isaac challenged the Nyabihinga Primary School leadership to put the donated cement to the work it was intend for revealing that some leaders are irresponsible and corrupt, and at times channel such a donation to other unintended roles.
Mucunguzi also appealed to the teachers of the school to work hard in educating the pupils to attain better grades that will in turn revamp the status of their school.
“Counsel Isaac has done part of his role in supporting the development of the school structures, it’s now time for you our beloved teachers to equip the learners with required material that will see them succeed. If they are successful, the school and you as their mentors will also be successful” he noted.
