DPP Jane Abodo

NEWS- The Director of Public Prosecutions Jane Frances Abodo together with AIGP Tom Magambo have highlighted the importance of coordination between investigators and prosecutors at all levels if they are to effectively combat complex crimes like corruption, land and electoral offenses such as malpractice, election fraud, violence, intimidation among others.

This was during a press conference held at CID Headquarters Kibuli today.

DPP assured the public that her office is committed to handle all criminal matters and added that although there is need to distinguish between civil and criminal land matters by prosecutors.

Abodo emphasized that her office will focus on its mandate of fighting crime, without regard to political affiliation.

The press conference was called to prepare for the two days Inaugural meeting between the CID and DPP where President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected tomorrow as the Chief Guest.

The meeting aims to strengthen coordination, collaboration cooperation for successful prosecutions even in sophisticated high profile cases in courts of law between prosecutors and investigating officers.

According to Abodo, the participants are investigators, Prosecutors and key stakeholders in the criminal justice system totaling 620.
