KAMPALA- The Ministry of Education has asked the Parliamentary Committee on Gender Labour and social Development to prevail over the Minister of Gender to withdraw the Uganda National Kiswahili Council Bill 2023 to enable the two ministries harmonize the roles of the Minister of education in establishing National Kiswahili Council.
The request to withdraw this bill was put before the committee on Gender chaired by Agnes Kunihira by the team of the Ministry of Education led by the Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo.
Muyingo said that the Uganda National Kiswahili Council Bill, 2023 before the committee does not properly define some important issues required in the bill.

The shadow minister for youths Frank Kabuye agreed with the Ministry of Education’s proposal to withdraw this bill for its good.
